Longvinter Launches on Steam as PC

After three years of refinement through player feedback and bug fixes, Longvinter has officially launched version 1.0 on Steam, marking the end of its early access phase. The development team celebrated this achievement by introducing comprehensive updates to enhance gameplay for new and returning players alike.

The standout feature of this update is the addition of operational oil rigs throughout the archipelago. Players can now harvest crude oil, process it into fuel, and clash with LRI mercenaries guarding supply routes. Fresh dynamic events like helicopter crash sites offering tactical equipment and a recurring underground combat arena with hourly rewards further enrich the experience.

The game's ecosystem expands with predatory and docile wildlife—lynxes, wolves, wolverines, foxes, moose, and goats—all tamable as rideable companions. Players will discover numerous new gear options, from stat-boosting headwear to combat armor, alongside an expanded arsenal including explosives. Builders and decorators gain interactive objects like oil processing units, kitchen appliances, defensive structures, while weapon balancing receives major adjustments.

Future plans for version 1.1 include agricultural systems, an improved onboarding experience through redesigned tutorials, and new housing options including apartments and communal living spaces. The developers also announced a PlayStation port scheduled for 2026, broadening the game's accessibility beyond its PC player base.
