The new prices for hardware are in effect immediately, whereas the price for new first-party games, now set at $79.99, will apply starting this holiday season. If you're considering purchasing a new Xbox Series X|S or a controller, now is the time to act before the prices go up. The updated prices are already reflected on the official Xbox store, but some retailers might still offer the original prices for a limited time.

The Xbox Series X stands as the flagship console in the Xbox lineup, boasting the power to deliver games at 4K resolution. It's a powerhouse that I personally find more appealing than the PS5. I appreciate the ability to purchase and play physical games, which is why I recommend the standard model. However, if you're comfortable with a digital-only library, the Digital Edition offers a $50 saving.

Given the large size of modern games, I'd recommend opting for the 1TB version, as Xbox storage expansions can be quite costly.
