Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has encountered yet another delay, pushing its release to October 2025. This latest postponement, announced in a recent game update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room, marks a slight shift from the previously anticipated launch in the first half of 2025. However, there's a silver lining: the game is now complete.
"The status of the game right now is that the game is done," stated Marco Behrmann, the Executive Producer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. "We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases."
Despite the disappointment of another delay, the update video brings some positive news. The Chinese Room has enhanced the game with additional content, deeper narrative, and improved character development. Notably, the character Fabien will have an "evolved role" in the storyline. However, fans should brace for less frequent updates moving forward, as indicated by a recent post on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.
The journey of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been fraught with challenges since its announcement in 2019 by developer Hardsuit Labs, with an initial launch window set for Q1 2020. The game faced its first delay to late 2020, followed by further delays to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit. In a significant shift, Hardsuit was replaced by The Chinese Room in 2023, aiming for a 2024 release. Now, with the latest delay, fans are set to finally experience the game in October 2025.
While uncertainty lingers about whether Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will successfully captivate players this fall, The Chinese Room remains optimistic. Looking ahead, Paradox has hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful launch, a different developer will take on the challenge of creating Bloodlines 3.
