All Hidden and Secret Achievements in Monster Hunter Wilds I Caught a Shooting Star! A Prize Held High A Legacy Restored Seasoned Hunter Top of the Food Chain
Monster Hunter Wilds features 12 secret achievements, with seven linked to the main storyline that you'll unlock naturally as you progress. The remaining five achievements are tied to specific optional objectives, which we'll detail below:
I Caught a Shooting Star!: Caught a creature in the desert that shines like a shooting star. A Prize Held High: Caught a creature that bears an Ancient Wyvern Coin. A Legacy Restored: Obtained an Artian Weapon of Rarity 8. Seasoned Hunter: Hunted 50 Tempered monsters. Top of the Food Chain: Hunted 50 Apex Predators.
While some of these achievements are straightforward, others may require a bit of guidance. Let’s dive into how to unlock each one.
To catch this elusive creature, head to Zone 11 of the Windward Plains at night. Equip some screamer pods and keep an eye out for a Baunos flying near the gathering spots. Once you spot it, shoot it with the screamer pods and quickly use your Capture Net to snag it.
You can achieve this in various maps, but focusing on Zone 6 of the Scarlet Forest will make it easier. Look for a small puddle of water and use your Capture Net to catch the small golden crab lurking there. Alma will often comment when you're near a creature carrying the Ancient Wyvern Coin, so listen for her cues.
As you advance into High Rank missions, you’ll be able to craft Artian gear. To get the Rarity 8 weapons and the necessary materials, you'll need to hunt Tempered monsters while equipped with Rarity 7 gear.
Be sure not to confuse Tempered monsters with Frenzied ones; the former are highlighted in purple on the minimap, while the latter are outlined in red. Start hunting Tempered monsters from Chapter 4 onwards in the High Rank content. Both slaying and capturing them will contribute to this achievement.
This achievement is straightforward, but it's important to know which monsters count as Apex Predators. These include:
Hunt 50 of these to unlock the achievement.
And there you have it—how to unlock all the hidden achievements in Monster Hunter Wilds. For more tips and information on the game, including the best gathering set to use, be sure to check out The Escapist.
