Ubisoft has encountered a series of setbacks regarding its secretive project, Project U. Gameplay leaks surfaced as early as 2022, soon after the closed beta phase began. Fast forward to today, these leaks have re-emerged, indicating that the project is still active and in development. Recently, following what appears to be a reboot of its development, an introductory cinematic for Project U has leaked online.
While the origins and authenticity of the cinematic remain unconfirmed, it was shared by blogger Shaun Weber, known for his history of leaking gaming content. Weber suggested that additional footage from Project U could emerge if the project continues to progress.
Set to be a session-based cooperative shooter, Project U draws inspiration from the success of Helldivers 2. Based on the leaked video, the storyline focuses on an alien machine invasion of Earth, where players assume the roles of select individuals charged with thwarting this extraterrestrial threat.
Currently, Ubisoft has yet to release any official updates or announcements regarding the formal unveiling of Project U.
