Ubisoft Patches AC Origins, Valhalla for Windows 11 Compatibility

Welcome back to our ongoing series, "How is Ubisoft today?" Amidst the ongoing challenges faced by Ubisoft's upper management, there's a glimmer of good news on the horizon. The company has successfully addressed a persistent issue that has been plaguing gamers for months.

Ubisoft has finally resolved the compatibility issues between several Assassin’s Creed titles and the 24H2 update for Windows 11. Since at least the fall of 2024, games like Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, along with other Ubisoft titles, were experiencing significant performance problems on the new operating system. The solution came in the form of new patches, which were announced on the Steam pages for Origins and Valhalla.

The gaming community has responded positively to these updates. Comments under the patch notes show a wave of relief and gratitude towards Ubisoft for the long-awaited fix. Interestingly, gamers have refrained from their usual criticisms, acknowledging that this time, the issue stemmed from Windows rather than Ubisoft's development. Despite the positive feedback, the recent reviews for both games still hover at "Mixed."

Looking ahead, there's optimism surrounding the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Originally slated for an earlier launch, the game's release has been postponed to March 20. Ubisoft is taking this extra time to enhance the game's quality, understanding that its success could be pivotal for the company's future.
