NetherRealm Studios has unveiled thrilling new content for Mortal Kombat 1, including the first gameplay footage of the highly anticipated DLC guest character, the T-1000, and the announcement of Madam Bo as a new DLC Kameo fighter.

The T-1000's gameplay is a nostalgic nod to Terminator 2, showcasing attacks such as blade and hook arms that echo the moves of existing Mortal Kombat characters Baraka and Kabal. A standout moment in the teaser features the T-1000 transforming into a liquid metal blob, delivering an uppercut reminiscent of Killer Instinct's Glacius. The character is brought to life with the voice and likeness of Robert Patrick, who originally portrayed the T-1000 in the 1991 film. In a dramatic clash with Johnny Cage, the teaser culminates with a Fatality that recreates the iconic truck chase scene from Terminator 2, with the T-1000 morphing out of the driver's seat to unleash a barrage of bullets on Cage.

PlaySimultaneously, NetherRealm surprised fans by announcing Madam Bo as a DLC Kameo fighter, set to be released alongside the T-1000. Known from the base story of *Mortal Kombat 1*, Madam Bo is an elderly restaurant owner who heroically stands against Smoke and his goons. The teaser provides a brief glimpse of her gameplay, showcasing her assisting the T-1000 in battle.

The T-1000 will be available in Mortal Kombat 1 starting March 18 for those with early access through the Khaos Reigns expansion, with a wider release on March 25. Madam Bo will also be available starting March 18 as a free update for Khaos Reigns owners or as a standalone purchase.

As the final character in the Khaos Reigns DLC lineup, the T-1000 follows other notable additions such as Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, and Conan the Barbarian. Amidst speculation about the game's sales and future content, there's ongoing curiosity about whether NetherRealm will introduce a Kombat Pack 3.

Warner Bros. Discovery remains committed to the Mortal Kombat franchise, with CEO David Zaslav indicating plans to focus on four key titles, including Mortal Kombat. Ed Boon, the chief of Mortal Kombat development, has assured fans of continued support for Mortal Kombat 1, while also hinting at the studio's next project, which many believe could be another entry in the Injustice series.

Madam Bo is coming to Mortal Kombat 1 as a Kameo fighter.
The Injustice series, last seen with Injustice 2 in 2017, remains a beloved part of NetherRealm's portfolio. Despite the release of Mortal Kombat 11 in 2019 and the soft reboot Mortal Kombat 1 in 2023, Boon has left the door open for future Injustice games. In discussions about the shift back to Mortal Kombat, Boon cited factors like the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to a new version of the Unreal game engine as pivotal in the decision-making process. He emphasized that the choice to focus on Mortal Kombat was not a closure for Injustice, expressing a clear intention to return to the DC fighting game franchise in the future.
