SwitchArcade Round-Up: Reviews Featuring ‘Fitness Boxing feat. Hatsune Miku’, Plus New Releases, Sales, and Good-Byes

by David Jan 07,2025

Farewell, SwitchArcade Readers! A Final Round-Up

Hello fellow gamers, and welcome to the final regular SwitchArcade Round-Up from yours truly. While a special edition with a few delayed reviews will follow next week, this marks the end of my long run covering the Switch scene here on TouchArcade. It's been a great ride, and I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have shared these years with you all.

This week's edition is packed with content, including reviews, new release summaries, and the usual sales lists. Let's dive in!

Reviews & Mini-Views

Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU ($49.99)

Imagineer's latest Fitness Boxing title, featuring the beloved Hatsune Miku, is a surprisingly effective workout game. It blends boxing mechanics with rhythm-game elements, offering daily exercises, mini-games, and customization options. While the main instructor's voice is a bit jarring, the overall experience is enjoyable and well-designed. It's best used as a supplement to other fitness routines rather than a standalone program. Note that this is Joy-Con only.

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Magical Delicacy ($24.99)

This Metroidvania-cooking hybrid from sKaule and Whitethorn Games is a visually stunning game with charming pixel art and a captivating soundtrack. While the exploration is well-implemented, some inventory and backtracking issues hold it back from greatness. The UI could also use some refinement. Despite these flaws, Magical Delicacy is a solid entry in both genres and plays well on the Switch.

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Aero The Acro-Bat 2 ($5.99)

Ratalaika Games delivers a polished re-release of this classic 16-bit platformer. While it lacks the charm of its predecessor, Aero The Acro-Bat 2 offers a solid platforming experience with improved visuals and a wealth of extra features, including achievements, a gallery, and a jukebox. The inclusion of only the SNES version is a minor drawback.

SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5

Metro Quester | Osaka ($19.99)

This prequel to Metro Quester expands upon the original's formula with a new setting, characters, and challenges. Fans of the original will find plenty to enjoy, while newcomers will appreciate its unique blend of turn-based combat and dungeon crawling. It's a more patient-demanding game, rewarding careful planning and strategy.

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
