Potch serves as the in-game currency. The Fortune Orb doubles the experience points gained by the character holding it, while the Prosperity Orb doubles the currency earned from battles. Note that the protagonist of the first Suikoden game cannot equip both orbs simultaneously.
Originally released in Japan in 1995 for the PlayStation, with its sequel following in 1998, the Suikoden series quickly became a beloved franchise.
