Stellar Blade's Festive Holiday Update: A Cozy Christmas in Xion

Stellar Blade is decking the halls (and Xion!) for the holidays with a festive update arriving December 17th. This update brings Christmas cheer, new outfits, and a fun mini-game. Let's dive into the details.

Stellar Blade Holiday Update

New Holiday Outfits and Customization:

Get into the holiday spirit with brand-new Christmas-themed costumes for Eve, Adam, and even the drone!

  • Eve: A stylish Santa dress.
  • Drone: A Rudolph-inspired outfit.
  • Adam: A playfully rebellious "I'm No Santa" attire.

Complete Eve's look with a Santa Girl hairstyle and festive accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.

A Festive Xion and a New Mini-Game:

Xion transforms into a winter wonderland, adorned with warm lights and red, green, and white decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve's camp also receive a festive makeover, complete with seasonal BGM ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away"). A new mini-game challenges players to shoot targets on a holiday-themed drone for special rewards, though specifics are yet to be revealed.

Control Your Festive Fun:

The update introduces an option to enable or disable seasonal content, including the Nier:Automata DLC, in the game's Gameplay settings. Choose from:

  • Auto: Automatically toggles seasonal content based on the season.
  • Disable: Deactivates seasonal content regardless of the season.
  • Enable: Activates seasonal content regardless of the season.

Note: Changing this setting requires a game restart.

Mixed Reception:

While the announcement was largely well-received, with many fans embracing the "Christmas Eve" nickname for the protagonist, some players expressed concerns about the frequency of event updates in a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The requirement to restart the game to fully experience the seasonal content also drew some criticism.
