Jharrel Jerome, star of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, has tempered fans' expectations about the release of the eagerly awaited third installment, Beyond the Spider-Verse. In a recent interview with Decider, Jerome revealed that he hasn't even recorded any lines yet for the film, indicating that production is still in the planning stages. He mentioned that "a lot of things are being figured out," suggesting that the project is still early in development. This news aligns with the timeline, as the second film in the series came out five years after the first in 2023, hinting at a similar gap before the third film.
"No, I wish," Jerome responded when asked about the start of production. "We haven’t started up yet. A lot of things being figured out, but good things."

Jerome had a smaller role in Across the Spider-Verse, but he's poised to take on a more significant part in Beyond the Spider-Verse. In the second film's finale, he portrays Miles G. Morales from Earth-42, who, unlike the main protagonist, did not become Spider-Man but instead became the Prowler. This alternate Miles's life took a darker turn when the radioactive spider intended for him ended up in the main Miles's universe, leading to his transformation into Spider-Man. Consequently, after the death of Peter Parker in Earth-42, supervillains took over New York, and Miles G. Morales joined their ranks.
The narrative of how this alternate Miles's story intersects with the main Miles Morales, who embraced his Spider-Man identity, is set to unfold in Beyond the Spider-Verse. However, fans will need to exercise patience, as the film isn't expected to hit theaters until at least 2026, according to Deadline. If the release follows the pattern of the previous film, it might not arrive until 2028.
