Sonic Rumble Pre-Release Event: Monkey Ball, Altered Beast Crossover

While the global release of Sonic Rumble is still a few weeks away on May 8th, the excitement is already building with a pre-release crossover event that's bringing iconic Sega characters into the mix. This event, running from now until May 7th, is set to delight fans in regions where Sonic Rumble is currently in soft launch.

Starting off the festivities, players can claim the Werewolf character from the classic game Altered Beast for free. It's a fantastic opportunity to add a legendary figure to your roster without spending a dime. For those looking to expand their collection further, the Sega Star Event Pass offers additional characters, including the Weredragon from Altered Beast and the beloved Opa-Opa from Fantasy Zone, Sega's first mascot.

The fun doesn't stop there! The in-game Ring Shop will feature even more characters for purchase, such as Upa-Upa and the Werebear. Meanwhile, the Red Star Ring Shop will bring in characters from the Super Monkey Ball series, with AiAi and MeeMee ready to join the action.

It's quite the unusual move to launch such an event before the global release, but it's a clear sign of the exciting things to come. Sega has promised that this is just the beginning of a packed schedule of crossovers and collaborations for Sonic Rumble.
