The Sims Expands into Board Games with Goliath

The Sims is making its debut in tabletop gaming with its first-ever board game, launching in fall 2025. This new venture comes from a partnership with Goliath Games, a leading toy and game manufacturer.

Goliath Games aims to deliver a unique and social way for fans to enjoy The Sims in a physical format. More specifics about the gameplay will be unveiled at the New York Toy Fair, running from March 1st through the 4th.

As part of its 25th-anniversary festivities, The Sims is branching out from digital screens with a board game designed to capture the spirit of the iconic life simulator. Since its debut in 2000, The Sims has become one of the best-selling video game series ever, sustained by numerous expansions and updates. Even without a new main series entry since The Sims 4 in 2014, the community remains vibrant through consistent new content.

Jochanan Golad, CEO of Goliath Games, shared his excitement about the collaboration, pointing to his company's expertise in crafting engaging physical games. He promised the board game would provide a fresh perspective on The Sims while honoring its foundational gameplay.

Lyndsay Pearson, Vice President of Creative Franchise for The Sims, highlighted the importance of this step in the franchise's landmark 25th year. She commended Goliath Games for their skill in creating fun and accessible board game experiences. The Sims Board Game will be sold worldwide at major retailers, with further details announced nearer its launch.

At the New York Toy Fair, Goliath Games will showcase more about the game's design and mechanics. While concrete details are still confidential, the goal is to translate signature Sims elements—like character customization, relationship building, and skill development—into the board game. Both longtime fans and tabletop gamers can anticipate this innovative new chapter for the franchise.
