Get ready, fans! HBO has just announced that *The Last of Us Season 2* is set to premiere on Sunday, April 13 at 9pm ET/PT, and it will also be available to stream on Max. This eagerly awaited season will span seven episodes, and to ramp up the excitement, HBO has unveiled new character posters featuring Joel, Ellie, and Abby.

Taking place five years after the gripping events of the first season, *The Last of Us Season 2* will continue the journey of Joel and Ellie as they settle into life with Joel's brother Tommy at their commune in Montana. This season will delve into the narrative of *The Last of Us Part 2*, so fans of the game series will have a good idea of what to expect.

Joining the returning stars Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie are several new faces. Kaitlyn Dever will take on the role of Abby, with Isabela Merced playing Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, and Tati Gabrielle as Nora. Notably, Tati Gabrielle will also star as the main protagonist in Naughty Dog's upcoming game, *Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet*.

The first season of The Last of Us was a smashing success for HBO. Co-created by Craig Mazin of Chernobyl fame and Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann, the series garnered multiple Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards and received five Primetime Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor, Lead Actress, Outstanding Director, and Outstanding Writing.

Buoyed by the triumph of the initial season, HBO's Francesca Orsi has hinted that *The Last of Us* may extend to a total of four seasons. This suggests that the upcoming season will not cover the entire story of *The Last of Us Part 2*.
