Diving into the cooperative horror game *R.E.P.O.* can be a thrilling experience for up to six players, as you embark on physics-based missions to retrieve valuables across various maps. But the last thing you want is to lose your progress, so let's walk through the crucial steps on how to save your game in *R.E.P.O.*
There's nothing more frustrating than booting up your game only to find that your latest progress hasn't been saved. This issue is particularly common with new games, where autosave features might not be as straightforward, and manual saves are often unavailable. In *R.E.P.O.*, missing the save instructions can leave you starting over from scratch.
The key to saving your game in *R.E.P.O.* is simple yet strict: you must complete the level you're on. The game autosaves only after you finish a level; there's no option for manual saves. If you quit or die during a retrieval mission, your progress is lost, and you'll need to start that level all over again. The same goes for dying in *R.E.P.O.*—your save file gets wiped, and exiting mid-level forces you to restart from the beginning of that location.
To successfully save your game, follow these steps: After collecting valuables, head to the Extraction Point, then make your way to the truck. Once inside, hold the message button above your head to signal the Taxman, your AI boss, that it's time to head to the Service Station. At the Service Station, you can shop and prepare for the next level. Use the same button to proceed to the next location.
Once you leave the Service Station and reach your next destination, it's safe to exit to the main menu or quit the game. When you or the host (if someone else started the save file) next opens *R.E.P.O.*, you can resume your journey. Remember, the host is responsible for exiting at the correct time to ensure the game saves properly for all players.

Now that you're equipped with the knowledge to save your game in *R.E.P.O.*, take a look at our other guides to enhance your gameplay and ensure successful missions with your team.
