Rumors suggest that the critically acclaimed 2024 JRPG, Metaphor: ReFantazio, could arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 within its launch window. While Nintendo hasn't officially unveiled the Switch 2, numerous leaks detail the anticipated next-generation system, hinting at a more powerful console with quality-of-life improvements. Recent rumors predict a Switch 2 reveal imminently, with a potential May or June launch.
A recent leak from well-known leaker PH Brazil suggests Metaphor: ReFantazio is in development for the Switch 2, possibly launching within the system's launch window (generally considered the period from release until the end of the year). Given Metaphor: ReFantazio's critical acclaim—including nominations for Game of the Year, Best Narrative, and Best Art Direction at The Game Awards 2024—and the strong relationship between Nintendo and Sega (the game's publisher), a Switch 2 port seems plausible.
Metaphor: ReFantazio Rumored for Switch 2
This isn't the first time Metaphor: ReFantazio has been linked to the Switch 2. A previous leak suggested both Metaphor: ReFantazio and Persona 3 Reload were in development for the console. This influx of third-party support bodes well for Nintendo's next-generation console.
Metaphor: ReFantazio isn't alone in the rumored Switch 2 launch window lineup. Ubisoft reportedly has multiple games in development, along with titles from Konami and even Microsoft. Rumors also point to a new Mario Kart as a launch title and a new 3D Super Mario game within the launch window. However, the veracity of these claims remains to be seen.
