REPO: Energy Crystals, Uses & Acquisition

by Audrey Mar 14,2025

Conquering a level in the co-op game R.E.P.O. is a significant achievement. After your victory, a trip to the Service Station allows you to purchase essential upgrades, including Energy Crystals. Here's what they do and how to acquire more.

What Are Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.?

These shiny yellow crystals, available at the Service Station after completing the first level, cost between $7,000 and $9,000. Early in the game, when difficulty is lower, they're typically cheaper, offering a chance to stock up early if you've managed to secure a good amount of loot.

Purchasing an Energy Crystal adds an Energy Container to your R.E.P.O. truck. This container revolutionizes tool management, allowing you to recharge items like the Valuables or Extraction Tracker simply by placing them inside. This significantly reduces replacement costs and saves your team money in the long run. Place your item in the bin beside the container (marked with a yellow lightning bolt) to begin recharging.

While convenient, Energy Crystals are not limitless. Each crystal's energy depletes with use, eventually breaking and requiring replacement. Roughly one crystal refills four battery sections of an item; six crystals fully charge the Energy Container.

How To Get More Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.

Energy Crystals are exclusively purchased at the Service Station, but their high cost demands careful planning. Maximize your loot collection in each level to ensure sufficient funds. Remember, only completing a level with enough money triggers a visit to the Service Station.

During particularly challenging levels, prioritizing survival and securing enough cash to clear the level might be wiser than risking losing valuable items.

This covers the functionality of Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O. and how to obtain them.

R.E.P.O. is available now on PC.
