In the early stages of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, you'll encounter the opportunity to engage in side quests within two distinct settlements, choosing between supporting Prochek or Olbram in the Mice or Frogs quests. Here's a detailed guide to help you make informed decisions on these engaging storylines.
In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the rivalry between the people of Tachov and Zhelejov is intense, but you can navigate this conflict to your advantage. It's possible to complete most quests for both Prochek and Olbram if you manage your choices wisely. This approach allows you to delve deeper into the lore of both settlements. While it's not feasible to achieve a favorable outcome for both factions simultaneously, exploring both sides enriches your gaming experience.
If you prefer to align with just one side, the choice between Prochek and Olbram doesn't significantly impact the overall narrative. Both aim to sabotage the other, and your decision largely hinges on which task you find more intriguing or manageable.
Olbram's quest involves stealing the Zhelejov maypole, a task requiring stealth and possibly some charm to distract the guard at night. On the other hand, Prochek asks you to paint Olbram's bull blue, a mission that necessitates acquiring a dye recipe from Radovan and the dye itself from the tailor in Troskowitz.
Prochek's task might be more challenging, especially early in the game, due to potential limitations in your resources and skills. If you're struggling with groschen or Speech skills, siding with Olbram might be a smoother path. Below, I'll outline both questlines in greater detail.
To initiate the Mice quest, simply talk to Prochek in Tachov. If he's not immediately available, head to the local inn and inquire with the innkeeper about his whereabouts.
After conversing with Prochek, make your way to Troskowitz to meet Bartoshek the tailor and purchase the necessary dye.
For the Lullaby Potion, you have two options: work as an apprentice blacksmith under Radovan in Tachov or use your charm to persuade him to share the recipe. The potion requires oil, poppy, and thistle, the last two of which you can gather from the garden near the apothecary in Troskowitz.
Once you've prepared the potion, head to Zhelejov and pour it into the bull's trough. When the bull is asleep, approach it and apply the dye. After completing this task, return to Prochek to report your success. This also opens the door to starting the Frogs quest with Olbram, should you wish to assist him in retaliating against Tachov.
You can meet Olbram near the meadow in Zhelejov. Agree to retrieve the maypole to begin the Frogs quest, which requires you to steal the Tachov maypole under the cover of night.
Approach the maypole in Tachov during the evening. You'll encounter Henrik, the guard. You can either knock him out or, if your Speech skill is high enough, charm him into leaving his post. Engage Henrik in conversation about Manka and set up a secret rendezvous for them, which allows you to watch over the maypole. After arranging the date with Manka at the inn, return to Henrik. Once he departs, climb the maypole and cut it down.
Report back to Olbram, who will commend your efforts and request one more task: chase the sheep out of Tachov's pasture and administer a digestive potion to Alshik. At this point, you can either continue with Olbram's plan or inform Prochek, effectively concluding both quests and halting the ongoing feud.
This guide covers everything you need to know about navigating the Mice and Frogs quests involving Prochek and Olbram in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
