The Edge of Eternities set, debuting on August 1, doesn't have any spoilers just yet, but there's already plenty to look forward to. Here's everything we know so far.
This year, Wizards of the Coast is doubling down on the Universes Beyond theme, starting with the Final Fantasy set, followed by Spider-Man and Avatar: The Last Airbender later in the year. While this move has sparked various reactions, Edge of Eternities takes a different approach by focusing on Magic's internal lore, marking the beginning of the concluding arc of the Metronome storyline, which kicked off with Wilds of Eldraine.
Concept art has been teased, but details remain scarce. Rest assured, this set will tie up loose ends while staying true to Magic's roots.
Magic The Gathering Edge of Eternities Play Booster Box
Play Boosters have become the go-to choice for opening packs, replacing Set Boosters and Draft Boosters. Each pack contains 15 cards, with the last card often being an advertisement, art card, or token. The breakdown is as follows:
Players can purchase Play Boosters individually or grab a booster box.

Collector Boosters are premium packs, priced higher than Play Boosters, containing 16 cards (one of which is a token). These packs typically include:
Many Collector Boosters feature enhanced foil designs, with 12–13 cards being foil. Available individually or in boxes, these are perfect for collectors who want something special.

Commander has surged in popularity, thanks to its thrilling "last player standing" matches and easy entry points for newcomers. The number of decks varies per set. For instance, Aetherdrift had two, Tarkir: Dragonstorm boasted five, and Final Fantasy includes four.
Edge of Eternities narrows the focus, offering two Commander decks:

Traditionally, Bundles and Prerelease Packs are available for every new set. Bundles include nine Play Boosters, one promo card with exclusive alternate art, a full set of 10 Full-Art Lands (foil and non-foil), a spindown dice, and a card storage box.
Prerelease Packs, meanwhile, are designed for events, allowing players to open the box and build a 40-card deck using six Play Boosters. These are exclusively found at local game stores.
