Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Trading System Gets an Overhaul
Pokémon TCG Pocket, while initially exciting, faced a significant hurdle with its trading system. The required, hard-to-obtain Trade Tokens and restrictive trading limitations hampered the experience. However, a new update promises significant improvements.
Trade Tokens are being completely removed. Trading three-diamond, four-diamond, and one-star rarity cards will now use Shinedust. You earn Shinedust when opening booster packs containing cards already in your Card Dex. Existing Trade Tokens can be converted to Shinedust.
Further changes are planned, including adjustments to Shinedust usage for obtaining flair. A future update will also introduce an in-game function to share cards you wish to trade.
Trading Overhaul
The initial trading system suffered from necessary restrictions to prevent abuse within the digital environment. These restrictions, coupled with the scarcity of Trade Tokens, created a less-than-ideal trading experience.
While these changes are welcome, their implementation is slated for autumn, leaving players to wait several months. This slower-than-desired pace highlights the need for quicker responsiveness to player feedback.
