The latest Stellar Blade update introduces several exciting additions to the PS5 exclusive title, including enhanced visual effects, particularly noticeable in the depiction of character movement.
(c) Stellar Blade on Twitter (X) Developer Shift Up has implemented a range of improvements, making the previously limited-time Summer Event a permanent feature, toggleable at will. Other notable updates include quality-of-life enhancements, new map markers, and the convenient "Ammo Package" item for instant ammo replenishment. However, the most discussed change involves updated physics impacting character animation.
As highlighted by the developers, the character Eve's physical representation now exhibits more dynamic movement. The difference is apparent, with a more pronounced and responsive animation.
Shift Up has consistently embraced a bold visual style, and this update further refines the character's appearance. The physics enhancements extend beyond the character model, affecting equipment reactions to wind effects, creating a more realistic and immersive experience, described by some fans as "real-time CG."
While the changes are most prominent in certain aspects of the character's animation, the overall effect enhances the game's visual fidelity.
A more comprehensive physics engine might also realistically affect other elements of the character model, such as hair movement.
