Phasmophobia Weekly Challenge: Mastering the Primitive Challenge

by Harper May 28,2025

It may feel like we’ve gone back to the Stone Age during the Primitive weekly challenge in *Phasmophobia*, but unlike cavemen, we have to deal with ghosts haunting us. Completing this challenge without electronics is a daunting task, but it's certainly achievable with the right approach.

How To Complete The Primitive Challenge in Phasmophobia

Screenshot by The EscapistThe Primitive Challenge ranks among the toughest weekly challenges in *Phasmophobia*. You're tasked with identifying the ghost and completing investigations at 10 Ridgeview Court without any electronic devices. This leaves you with minimal tools, forcing you to rely heavily on your intuition and understanding of ghost behavior. Remember, you need to complete three qualifying investigations to earn full credit for this challenge.

Tips & Tricks To Complete Primitive Challenge in Phasmophobia

Navigating the Primitive Challenge requires you to adapt to a unique set of rules and circumstances. Since electronics are off-limits, you won't have access to Flashlights, DOTs Projectors, Video Cameras, or any other electronic equipment. Your loadout includes two Tier 1 Crucifixes to prevent ghost hunts, Tier 2 Firelights, and a full set of Tier 1 Incense for protection.

For evidence gathering, your options are severely limited. You'll have two Tier 3 Ghost Writing books and two Tier 1 UV "glowstick" lights, which double as your light source and ultraviolet evidence tools. Additionally, you'll have two Tier 1 thermometers to detect freezing temperatures.

To succeed, you'll need to leverage your knowledge of ghost behaviors. Each ghost type has unique traits that can help you identify them even without traditional evidence. Our no-evidence cheat sheet can be a valuable resource in this regard.

Ouija Board in PhasmophobiaTo locate the ghost quickly, take advantage of the increased ghost activity in this challenge. Alternatively, use the provided Ouija Board, located in the laundry room to the left of the dining area on the first floor. Ask the ghost for its "favorite room" to pinpoint its location, though this will cost you 50% of your sanity. Always remember to say "Goodbye" to the board to avoid triggering a Cursed Hunt.
