Pedro Pascal condemns JK Rowling for anti-trans remarks

by Connor Dec 03,2025

Pedro Pascal, acclaimed actor starring in hit series like The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, and the upcoming The Fantastic Four: First Steps, has publicly criticized Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling regarding her controversial stance on transgender rights.

The actor joined the conversation in response to an April 17 video posted by writer and activist Tariq Raouf. The clip addressed Rowling's endorsement of a recent UK Supreme Court decision legally defining "woman" exclusively as biological females regarding equality protections, effectively excluding transgender women from certain legal safeguards.

Following the ruling, Rowling shared a celebratory social media post featuring herself relaxing by the ocean with a cigar and drink, referencing her financial support for the organization that brought the case. Raouf's video criticized these actions as reminiscent of "Voldemort villain" behavior and called for boycotting Harry Potter-related content.

Pascal responded directly to the video, stating: "Awful disgusting SH** is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior." This firm stance reflects the actor's history of transgender advocacy.

The Emmy-nominated star has previously expressed support through social media posts condemning transphobia, including one stating: "I can't think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community." He notably wore a "Protect the dolls" shirt - using LGBTQIA+ community vernacular referring to trans women - at the Thunderbolts London premiere.

Pascal's advocacy stems partly from personal experience - his sister Lux Pascal came out as transgender in 2021. At the time, the actor warmly shared a Spanish-language tribute meaning "My sister, my heart, our Lux," demonstrating his familial support.
