In a recent interview with IGN, the franchise's lead actor, Norman Reedus, not only teased elements of the upcoming game but also dropped hints about the future film adaptation currently in development by Michael Sarnoski and A24.
When quizzed about potentially playing himself in the film version, Reedus responded enthusiastically, saying, "If it was an option, yeah, for sure. I don’t know what’s happening with it. It’s so pre pre pre right now. But yeah, of course." His comments reflect a keen interest in the project, despite its early stages.

Reedus also shared insights into his experience with the original game and his expectations for the sequel. Despite admitting to some initial confusion with the first game, he expressed unwavering trust in the visionary creator, Hideo Kojima. "As far as working with him and understanding where his head’s at, I don’t think anybody can understand where his head’s at," Reedus remarked. He praised Kojima's innovative approach, noting that the sequel promises more action and a clearer narrative goal, indicating a deeper understanding of the story this time around.
Regardless of the complexities within the Death Stranding universe, Reedus remains enthusiastic about his involvement. "It’s always a trip working on those things," he shared with IGN. "It’s great, but it’s wild."
Mark your calendars: Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is set to hit the shelves on June 26, 2025. Get ready for another thrilling journey into Kojima's unique world.
