Nintendo's first post-Switch 2 Nintendo Direct Treehouse livestream has been inundated with a barrage of angry comments from users demanding the company to "DROP THE PRICE." The YouTube chat during the stream is rife with complaints about the pricing strategy for Nintendo's move to the next generation, which includes the $449.99 Switch 2 and, more controversially, the $79.99 price tag for Mario Kart World.
While the Nintendo Switch 2 system itself will retail for $449.99, a bundle is also available that includes Mario Kart World for $499.99, offering a $30 saving on the game's price.
Mario Kart World isn't the only game on the Nintendo Switch 2 to carry a $79.99 price. Other titles, such as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, also come with this higher price point.

The backlash against Nintendo's pricing strategy is now spilling over into the Treehouse livestream, though the presenters have, perhaps understandably, chosen to ignore the chat. It seems likely that Nintendo will continue to face this kind of pressure from the gaming community, urging the company to address these pricing concerns.
