Nintendo has officially revealed the pricing for upgrading two more titles from the original Nintendo Switch to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition: Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Super Mario Party Jamboree. The cost, however, is significantly higher than expected.
Previously, upgrading The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to the Switch 2 Edition cost $9.99 each. However, as reported by NintendoLife, the upgrade packs for both Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Super Mario Party Jamboree are more than double that price.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild offers improved visuals and performance, achievements, and integrates with the new "Zelda Notes" service available through the Nintendo Switch Online app. Owners of the original Switch version can access these enhancements by purchasing an "upgrade pack" for $10.
The Switch 2 Edition of Kirby and the Forgotten Land includes new story content in the Star-Crossed World. Meanwhile, Super Mario Party Jamboree’s Switch 2 Edition introduces Jamboree TV, a new suite of content utilizing the Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, Switch 2 microphone, and the separately sold Switch 2 USB-C camera. It also boasts upgraded resolution up to 1440p in TV mode, improved frame rates, new minigames, and enhanced online functions.
Although U.S. prices are not yet listed on the American Nintendo eShop—potentially due to uncertainties related to President Trump's tariffs—the UK Nintendo eShop lists the Kirby and the Forgotten Land upgrade pack at £16.99 / €19.99, significantly higher than the £7.99 / €9.99 for upgrading either Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom.
The Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV upgrade is similarly priced at £16.99 / €19.99, suggesting a U.S. price of $19.99. This higher upgrade cost may be linked to the $80 price tag for both Kirby and The Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star Crossed World and Super Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV, which are $20 more expensive than their original Switch versions, priced at $59.99 each.
For those not upgrading, here are the U.S. prices for the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------It's worth noting that the upgrade packs for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are available at no additional cost to Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack subscribers. Unfortunately, no such offer exists for those looking to upgrade Kirby or Party Jamboree.
Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders opened on April 24, with the console priced at $449.99. The pre-orders were met with high demand, leading Nintendo to warn U.S. customers who pre-ordered through the My Nintendo Store that release date delivery is not guaranteed.
