Team Ninja has rolled out a substantial update for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, pushing the game to version 1.0.7.0. This latest patch introduces highly anticipated features like New Game Plus, Photo Mode, and more, directly responding to the community feedback from January. You can download the update now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store.
With New Game Plus, players can dive into a fresh run on any difficulty level they've previously conquered, keeping their arsenal of weapons and Ninpo from their last playthrough. However, these items will start at Level 1, ensuring a balanced challenge. Keep in mind, you can't skip straight to a higher difficulty using this mode.
A new quality of life feature lets you toggle the visibility of your projectile weapon. Simply head to the Options menu, go to Game Settings, and flip the "Show Projectile Weapon" switch to hide or show your weapon on your character's back.
On the balance front, Team Ninja has adjusted the gameplay experience by lowering enemy Hit Points in Chapters 8 and 11, while increasing the number of foes in Chapters 13 and 14. Additionally, some of Ayane's attacks now pack more punch.
The patch also includes several bug fixes aimed at enhancing stability and performance, particularly for high-powered PC setups. Issues such as game-breaking bugs in specific chapters and crashes during extended play sessions have been addressed.
Ninja Gaiden 2 Black surprised fans with its release during the January Xbox Developer Direct. This revamped version of the classic action game, powered by Unreal Engine 5, boasts improved graphics, new playable characters, and enhanced battle support features.
IGN's review of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black scored it an 8/10, noting, "While it may not be the definitive version due to fewer, tougher enemies, it's a stunning and significant upgrade over the Sigma 2 release, maintaining its status as an exceptional action game."
