Netflix Cancels Electric State Prequel Game

Netflix is gearing up to launch a captivating tie-in game for their upcoming sci-fi adventure film, "The Electric State." Titled "The Electric State: Kid Cosmo," this puzzle game introduces a retro-futuristic twist and is set to release on March 18th, just four days after the movie premieres on Netflix.

Directed by the acclaimed Russo brothers, "The Electric State" film features stars like Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, and is scheduled for release on March 14th. The movie takes viewers on a post-apocalyptic road trip across an alternate 1990s America, filled with massive robots and thrilling adventures.

It's Not Going to be a Simple Adaptation of the Movie

"The Electric State: Kid Cosmo" isn't just a retelling of the movie's plot. Instead, it serves as a prequel, delving into the childhood of two central characters, Chris and Michelle, through an innovative game-within-a-game experience. Developed by BUCK Games, in collaboration with AGBO, the game promises a rich narrative and engaging gameplay.

BUCK Games, known for their successful roguelite puzzle game "Let's! Revolution!" on Steam, brings their expertise to "Kid Cosmo." Players can expect a solid gameplay experience reminiscent of the WarioWare series, but with a unique '80s flair. Set in Wichita, Kansas, in 1985, the game spans five years, providing a deep dive into Chris and Michelle's early adventures.

In "The Electric State: Kid Cosmo," players will embark on puzzle-solving adventures, collect modules, and repair Kid Cosmo's ship, uncovering the mysteries of a peculiar world along the way. For a sneak peek at the game, check out the trailer below.

The Electric State: Kid Cosmo Follows Netflix's Trend of Spin-Offs
