Capcom recently shared a pre-launch update for Monster Hunter Wilds, addressing console performance, weapon adjustments, and a significant reduction in minimum PC requirements. Let's dive into the details!
Console Performance Goals Unveiled
The December 19th community update stream featured director Yuya Tokuda and other team members, discussing post-OBT improvements. Console performance targets were revealed:
Lowered PC Minimum Specs Incoming
While initial PC specs were previously released, Capcom confirmed they are actively working to lower the minimum requirements for broader accessibility. Details will be shared closer to the release date, with a potential PC benchmark tool also under consideration.
Second Open Beta Test Possible
A second open beta test is being considered, primarily to give players who missed the first opportunity a chance to experience the game. However, it would not include the improvements and adjustments detailed in the recent stream; these will be exclusive to the full release.
The stream also covered refinements to hitstop and sound effects for enhanced impact, friendly fire mitigation, and weapon balancing with special attention given to the Insect Glaive, Switch Axe, and Lance.
Monster Hunter Wilds launches February 28th, 2025, on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
