MGS Delta: Snake Eater Retains Original's Suggestive Content, Rating Indicates

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater features content reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid 3, including the infamous Peep Demo Theatre, as noted by an age rating.

Although developer Konami hasn't officially confirmed whether the controversial elements remain, the U.S. classification board, the ESRB, has rated the stealth-action game as Mature 17+ due to realistic gunfire, cries of pain, bloody combat, and "suggestive/sexual content."

In addition to detailing the game's violent scenes—such as a restrained character being beaten and electrocuted, a character shot in the eye, and another set on fire—the ESRB mentions cutscenes involving further instances of violence and blood. The report also highlights some suggestive/sexual content: a man touching a woman's breasts, close-up camera angles focusing on cleavage, a character briefly groping a man's crotch, and the Peep Demo Theatre, which lets players view cutscenes of a female character's body from a first-person perspective.

The Peep Demo Theatre, an unlockable feature in the Subsistence and HD Collection versions of Metal Gear Solid 3, allows Snake to manipulate the camera and zoom during a cutscene featuring Eva in her underwear. To unlock it, players must complete the game four times.

Konami announced the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater on August 28, alongside revealing the return of the Snake vs. Monkey minigame.

IGN described Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater as "more of a very shiny HD remaster than the elegant remake it could have been" in our preview, noting Snake's new first-person perspective. IGN awarded the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater an impressive 9.6.
