In the world of Metaphor: ReFantazio, navigating through dungeons often means confronting formidable foes that act as mini-bosses before reaching the ultimate challenge. These enemies, marked by their red color in the overworld Fairy Sight, demand strategic squad combat even after extensive XP grinding.
A particularly tough adversary you'll encounter is the Faithwight Magileto, located in the Spire Of Blind Faith. At this stage in the game, tackling this enemy requires not just a solid strategy but a bit of luck too.
Weakness | Repel | Resists | Blocks |
---|---|---|---|
Strike | Light | Pierce | Electric |
This level 50 enemy can summon additional level 50 foes, making it unwise to engage before reaching at least level 45. Faithwight Magiletos wield potent dark and light magic capable of targeting single characters or the entire party, including the devastating Megidolaon. They also benefit from passive buffs that amplify the damage from dark, light, and Megidolaon spells. Additionally, they can use Soul Scream to gain four Press Turn icons in a turn and summon more level 50 skeletons that bolster their ranks with slashing attacks and dark magic. These summoned minions have strong buffs and healing spells that can restore the Faithwight Magileto to full health. Fortunately, these minions share the same weakness to Strike, making this the key to victory.
Even with a meticulously crafted strategy, defeating the Faithwight Magileto remains a daunting task at level 50, and nearly impossible below that. Here are some preparatory steps to enhance your chances:
While the specific Archetypes you choose are flexible, ensure your party covers as many of the above points as possible and avoids weaknesses to Dark, Light, or Slash. If you have access to multiple Archetypes and can use Skill Inheritance, prioritize those with high Strength. Equip at least two party members with party-wide healing spells and arm everyone with Strike Attacks to maximize Press Turn Icons and facilitate healing to offset the damage from these skills.
Success in this battle hinges on a bit of luck, particularly against consecutive Megidolaons. Equipping most party members with Dark and Light dodge increases the likelihood of ending the enemy's turn prematurely. If the Faithwight Magileto summons allies, prioritize their elimination before they can heal or buff. The Dekaja skill can dispel buffs from summoned enemies, but your primary focus each turn should be to execute at least six Strike attacks and two party-wide healing spells.
