If you remember the quirky and unique 2020 game *Mask Up*, where you transformed from a humble puddle of yellow goo into a formidable mass, get ready for its sequel, *Mask Around*. Developer Rouli has once again brought us an intriguing blend of weirdness and excitement. While *Mask Up* was primarily a 2D roguelike brawler, *Mask Around* elevates the gameplay by integrating 2D shooting mechanics. This sequel allows you to seamlessly switch between running and gunning through levels or engaging in close-quarters brawls with your gooey abilities.
The iconic yellow ooze is back, but as always, it's in limited supply. Keeping an eye on your ooze meter is crucial, especially during intense boss battles where running out could spell disaster. *Mask Around* not only retains the core gameplay of its predecessor but also significantly expands upon it. You'll need to strategically manage your ooze, deciding the best moments to use it, while also utilizing weapons to defend yourself when your ooze reserves are depleted.
We all wear masks
You can dive into *Mask Around* right now on Google Play, though there's no word yet on an iOS release. While I haven't experienced the original *Mask Up*, *Mask Around* appears to be a significant evolution of the formula, featuring enhanced and more polished graphics. It's not just about maintaining your ooze meter anymore; it's about mastering the timing of its use and leveraging your arsenal effectively.
After you've explored *Mask Around*, why not check out some other exciting new releases? Our latest list of the top five new mobile games to try this week is now available, offering even more great gaming experiences!
