Data miner X0X_Leaks uncovered evidence within the Marvel Rivals game files hinting at a forthcoming PvE mode featuring a boss battle against a kraken. While the kraken model boasts some animations, high-resolution textures are currently absent. The dataminer cleverly utilized in-game size parameters to showcase a potential in-game representation of the creature.
Marvel Rivals also detailed its significant Spring Festival event, commencing this Thursday. This event introduces a unique three-player team-based game mode, "Clash of Dancing Lions," where players compete to score a ball into the opposing team's goal. This mode bears a striking resemblance to Overwatch's Lucioball, and, by extension, Rocket League.
This similarity is noteworthy, given Marvel Rivals' apparent attempt to establish a distinct identity separate from Overwatch. The decision to feature a game mode reminiscent of an existing Overwatch event raises questions about Marvel Rivals' originality, particularly considering the event's strong Chinese cultural influences, a contrast to Overwatch's Olympic Games theme.
