NetEase is rolling out an innovative experimental feature for Marvel Rivals that promises to boost stability and reduce memory usage. Announced via a Twitter (X) post on April 30, the upcoming Switch Shader Compilation Mode is designed to enhance the gaming experience, particularly for those with lower RAM setups or facing FPS issues.
Accompanying the announcement, Marvel Rivals published a detailed blog on their official website, addressing player concerns about performance stutters and crashes due to excessive memory consumption during gameplay.

According to the blog, "To address the memory overload, we're introducing an experimental feature in Season 2: the Switch Shader Compilation Mode. With the Season 2 update, players can activate this feature through the PC launcher." This feature is particularly beneficial for players with 16GB of RAM or less.
When enabled, this feature offers the following improvements:
However, the developers have highlighted some known issues with this feature. For example, at the start of each match, some materials might render abnormally for a few frames but will return to normal shortly after. Other minor stutters may occur initially but should resolve for the rest of the match.
Marvel Rivals kicks off Season 2 with an exciting Twitch Drops campaign from April 11 at 12:00 UTC to April 30 at 23:59 UTC. To earn the exclusive rewards, players need to link their Marvel Rivals accounts to their Twitch accounts and watch any Marvel Rivals streams with Drops enabled.
The rewards are tiered based on the duration of viewing Marvel Rivals streams, offering players various in-game items to enhance their gaming experience.

In their latest Dev Vision, Marvel Rivals provided a sneak peek into Season 2's Hellfire Gala and announced plans for shorter seasons with the introduction of one new hero each month.
Marvel Rivals is gearing up for Season 2 with maintenance scheduled to begin on April 11 at 9:00 UTC, lasting approximately 2 to 3 hours.

The Season 2 patch will introduce Emma Frost as a new playable character, complete with her X-Revolution and Blue Sapphire skins. Alongside her, players can explore a new Domination map, Hellfire Gala: Krakoa, and enjoy a new battle pass featuring 10 brand new sets of heroic costumes.
