Marvel Rivals players eagerly anticipate future content additions, with recent speculation focusing on a potential PvE mode. However, NetEase, the game's developer, has confirmed that a full-fledged PvE mode isn't currently in the works.
At DICE Summit, Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu stated that while no PvE plans exist at this time, the development team actively explores new gameplay modes. The team is committed to delivering engaging and fun experiences, and a PvE mode would be considered if deemed sufficiently entertaining.
Further discussion with Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo revealed that NetEase acknowledges player interest in PvE. Wu elaborated that a robust PvE experience would significantly differ from the current game's core mechanics, necessitating careful experimentation with various approaches, potentially including a "lighter" PvE mode, such as a limited-time event.
Currently, NetEase remains tight-lipped regarding specific details. Marvel Rivals continues to receive updates every six weeks, with Human Torch and The Thing slated for release on February 21st. Separate discussions with Wu and Koo also covered potential Nintendo Switch 2 release and addressed rumors of intentionally misleading dataminers with fake character leaks in the game's code.
