Lies of P: Overture Unveiled at Sony's 2025 State of Play

The much-anticipated prequel to the acclaimed soulslike action RPG, Lies of P, titled Lies of P: Overture, was unveiled during Sony’s State of Play 2025 broadcast. Set to launch in the summer of 2025, this DLC expansion will be available across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. The gameplay trailer, which you can view below, promises an immersive experience.

Lies of P has captivated players with its unique take on the Pinocchio fairy tale, blending it with the challenging gameplay mechanics reminiscent of Bloodborne. IGN awarded Lies of P an impressive 8/10, praising its execution of the soulslike genre: “Lies of P might not branch out particularly far from its soulslike inspiration, but it plays the part extremely well.”

Lies of P: Overture transports players "back to the beginning of the Puppet Frenzy," delving into the events that set the stage for the main game. The trailer showcases new environments, formidable bosses, and hints at a mysterious guide leading the way.

Playing as Geppetto’s deadly puppet, you'll explore Krat and its surroundings, uncovering hidden backstories and engaging in epic battles that shape the past and future of Lies of P.

Publisher Neowiz had previously teased the game’s first DLC and confirmed plans to release a sequel. Lies of P achieved remarkable success, selling one million copies within a month of its launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, PC via Steam, and Mac via the Mac App Store on September 18, 2023.
