LEGO Unveils In-House Gaming Initiatives

by Logan Apr 20,2025

LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has announced ambitious plans for the company to broaden its footprint in the digital realm by venturing into video game development. The iconic toy manufacturer intends to craft gaming experiences both on its own and in collaboration with other entities.

“We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing.” Niels Christiansen

This strategic move into game development does not signify an end to LEGO's licensing agreements with third-party developers. Just last month, journalist Jason Schreier disclosed that TT Games, renowned for its LEGO-themed games, is currently developing a new LEGO title, possibly linked to one of Warner Bros.’ franchises.

LEGO's most notable gaming initiative to date is its partnership with Epic Games. The introduction of a LEGO-themed mode in Fortnite last year became an instant hit, significantly boosting the game's popularity.

Over the last two decades, LEGO has been closely associated with TT Games' adventure series. Although recent projects from the studio have been under wraps, there are whispers of a new LEGO Harry Potter game in development, inspired by the commercial success of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Furthermore, LEGO's collaboration with 2K Games resulted in the release of LEGO 2K Drive, a racing game launched last year, highlighting the brand's adaptability and appeal within the gaming sector.
