Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. This exciting news was officially announced during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, as reported by Variety. Fans have been buzzing with rumors for months about potential reunions of the Netflix Defenders within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and Ritter's return marks a significant step toward those hopes becoming a reality.
Ritter joined her Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox on stage to share her enthusiasm about returning to the role. "It's so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter stated. She hinted at thrilling developments for her character, saying, "I'm so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

Ritter first brought the gritty New York-based hero to life in Jessica Jones Season 1, which debuted on Netflix in 2015. The series continued for two more seasons, and Ritter also appeared in The Defenders. However, as Netflix's relationship with original Marvel content began to fade, so did the prospects of seeing Ritter as Jessica Jones again.
The landscape changed in 2021 when Disney regained the rights to certain characters, including Jessica Jones. Charlie Cox's return in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his own Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, fueled speculation about the potential reintroduction of other Netflix heroes. With the Punisher playing a crucial role in Season 1, it's fitting that Ritter will now join the cast for Season 2.
Ritter last portrayed the character in Jessica Jones Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation suggest that fans can look forward to more of Jessica Jones in the MCU, starting with Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While Disney has not yet announced a release date, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that viewers can expect new episodes in March 2026.
