Hunting AI animals in Ecos La Brea: a stealthy approach
While Ecos La Brea's AI creatures might seem easier targets than human players, catching them requires a strategic approach. Here's how to master the hunt:
Stealth is Key: Your primary tool is your sense of smell. Use the scent button to locate nearby animals, indicated by animal icons. A crucial element is crouching, which activates a meter showing how close you can get before spooking your prey.
The meter fills faster with faster movement. Sprinting fills it almost instantly, running significantly impacts it, trotting is slower, and walking is the slowest and ideal approach as you close in.
Wind Direction Matters: Approaching downwind will quickly alert the animal. A crosswind offers a moderate advantage, but the best approach is upwind.
Reading the AI: A question mark occasionally appears above the animal icon. If the question mark is visible, any movement will cause the meter to fill faster; remain still until it disappears.
The Chase: The meter will likely fill before you reach the AI. Be ready to sprint; the AI is fast, but a sprint should allow you to catch up. Their movement is unpredictable, so practice makes perfect. Open fields with minimal obstacles offer the best hunting grounds.
The Kill and Feast: Get extremely close to your target to initiate the bite. Once you've secured your prey, drop and eat it. Repeat this process until you are satisfied.
