Owning your own house at the tender age of 18 might seem like a dream come true—freedom, your own space, and all before you can legally drink in the US! But in the case of *Your House*, you might soon wish you had stayed at home with your parents. This seemingly cozy abode harbors a sinister secret that you'll uncover as you play.
In this gripping text-based adventure, you step into the shoes of Debbie, a young woman who faces a series of unfortunate events on her 18th birthday: expulsion from school, betrayal by her best friend, and being hit by a car. With nothing left to lose, Debbie receives a mysterious key and a letter directing her to the titular house. Driven by curiosity and desperation, she embarks on a journey to unravel the mysteries lurking within.
As you guide Debbie through the house, you'll encounter dozens of escape room-style puzzles that require all your wit and ingenuity to solve. But be warned—a mysterious figure watches from the sidewalk, adding an eerie layer of tension to your quest for survival.
While I might be painting *Your House* as more sinister than it actually is, there's no denying the game's spooky undertones. As you explore the various nooks and crannies of your new home, the escape room-style puzzles and chilling narrative keep you engaged. Despite the text-based format, the game is enriched with plenty of visuals, making it a compelling experience.
Be ready for some intense tapping, though. While Catherine praised *Your House* in her review, she noted the need for a more deliberate pace. If you're willing to take your time and carefully examine each screen, the slow-burn atmosphere can be immensely rewarding.
*Your House* is now available on iOS and is currently in pre-registration on Android. Keep an eye out, or while you wait, check out our list of the top 25 best puzzlers for iOS and Android to keep your mind sharp!
