Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered: How To Get Effects Of Two Outfits Simultaneously

Mastering the Dual Outfit Trick in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, while focused on action, offers significant weapon and outfit customization. This guide details how to combine the effects of two outfits for a significant gameplay advantage.

Remastered Version Required

This dual outfit method is exclusive to Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. A recent patch introduced a transmog feature, allowing you to maintain the stats of one outfit while visually wearing another.

Outfit Requirements

This technique works with any primary outfit, but your secondary (transmogged) outfit must be one of the following Banuk Werak outfits, found in the Frozen Wilds DLC:

  • Banuk Werak Runner
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (New Game Plus only)

Note: Access to the Frozen Wilds DLC is not contingent on completing the main game.

Obtaining the Banuk Werak Outfits

Banuk Werak Runner

Defeat the new machine to reach the Frozen Wilds expansion. Once there, locate a Bluegleam Merchant (marked by a blue merchant icon) and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit. Resource costs vary based on difficulty:

Resource Normal Cost Ultra Hard Cost
Metal Shards 1000 5000
Desert Glass 10 20
Slagshine Glass 10 20

Banuk Werak Chieftain & Chieftain Adept

The superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit is obtained by completing the "For the Werak" quest (the third main quest in Frozen Wilds). Consider lowering the difficulty if needed. The Adept version is acquired the same way, but only in New Game Plus.

Combining Outfit Effects

Equip your desired outfit (optimizing stats with Weaves as needed). Then, use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. While these provide no additional stats, they offer a crucial passive auto-healing effect after taking damage.

This strategy allows you to benefit from your primary outfit's stats and the auto-healing of the Banuk Werak outfit. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept offer significantly faster healing than the Runner. Combining this with an outfit like the Shield Weaver makes you incredibly resilient.
