Just in time for Halloween, Arrowhead Game Studios and Sony are bringing the Truth Enforcers Warbond to Helldivers 2. According to Katherine Baskin, Arrowhead's Social Media and Community Manager, this Warbond isn't just about cosmetic changes—it's a significant arsenal upgrade that will allow players to "become one of Super Earth's official Truth Enforcers."

For those new to the concept, Warbonds in Helldivers 2 work like a battle pass in live-service games, where players can use earned Medals to unlock items. Unlike traditional battle passes, Warbonds are evergreen, meaning once purchased, players retain permanent access and can unlock items at their own pace. The Truth Enforcers Warbond will be available for purchase in the Acquisitions Center on the Destroyer ship's menu, costing 1,000 Super Credits.

As detailed in a post on the official PlayStation Blog, the Truth Enforcers Warbond focuses on upholding the Ministry of Truth's ideals. Players will gain access to an array of advanced weaponry and armor sets, designed to equip Helldivers for any challenge.

Players can showcase their allegiance to Super Earth with the PLAS-15 Loyalist Plasma Pistol, a versatile sidearm that offers semi-automatic fire for rapid response or charged shots for heavier damage. For more intense situations, the SMG-32 Reprimand is a fast-firing submachine gun perfect for close-quarters combat, while the SG-20 Halt shotgun provides powerful crowd control with the ability to switch between stun rounds and armor-penetrating flechette rounds.

To further demonstrate dedication to Super Earth’s ideals, the Warbond includes two new armor sets: the sleek, white light armor UF-16 Inspector with red accents and the "Proof of Faultless Virtue" cape, and the medium armor UF-50 Bloodhound, also with red accents and the "Pride of the Whistleblower" cape. Both sets come with the Unflinching perk, reducing the staggering effect from enemy hits.

In addition to these capes, players can earn various banners and cosmetic patterns for hellpods, exosuits, and Pelican-1, along with an "At Ease" emote that underscores the Truth Enforcers' serious demeanor.

The Warbond also introduces the Dead Sprint booster, allowing players to sprint and dive even with depleted stamina, at the cost of health. This high-risk, high-reward item could be crucial in intense situations where quick movement is key to survival.

Helldivers 2’s Promising Future Despite Initial Player Base Decline

Helldivers 2 Truth Enforcers Warbond Drops This October 31st

Despite its successful launch earlier this year, with a peak of 458,709 concurrent players on Steam (excluding PS5 players), Helldivers 2 experienced a decline in its player base. This was largely due to Sony's initial requirement to link Steam accounts to the PlayStation Network, which locked out over 177 countries. Although Sony later reversed this decision, the game remains inaccessible in those regions.

As a result, the game's concurrent player count on Steam dropped to around 30,000. The August update, Escalation of Freedom, temporarily boosted this number to over 60,000, but it couldn't sustain the increase. Currently, Helldivers 2's Steam concurrent player count is just below 40,000.

The introduction of the Truth Enforcers Warbond could potentially reignite interest and bring back old players to fight for truth, justice, and Super Earth. The accompanying trailer promises a wealth of exciting content that may just do the trick.
