The Haunted Mirror stands out as one of the safest Cursed Objects in Phasmophobia, offering significant advantages that outweigh the inherent risks. Its functionality remains consistent across game updates, making it a highly recommended tool if encountered during an investigation.
This powerful artifact reveals the ghost's current favored room or area, providing a panoramic view within the mirror's reflection. For players familiar with the map's layout, this dramatically speeds up ghost location, allowing for strategic equipment placement before the investigation intensifies.
Typically found hanging on a wall (as seen in 6 Tanglewood Drive) or resting on the floor at its predetermined location, the Haunted Mirror, like all Cursed Objects, spawns consistently in the same spot on each map; the randomness lies in which Cursed Object appears.
To utilize the mirror, simply pick it up and use the designated interaction button (mouse or controller) to hold it aloft. The reflection will display the ghost's preferred haunt. However, remember on Professional difficulty and above, the ghost's location may shift after a time.
Caution is advised! Prolonged gazing into the mirror depletes sanity. Holding it for the entire duration will shatter the mirror, instantly triggering a Cursed Hunt at your precise location. Therefore, use it strategically when sanity levels are high, and ensure you correctly interpret the reflected location.
Unlike standard equipment, which aids in ghost detection and evidence gathering with minimal risk, Cursed Objects offer shortcuts or advantages at the cost of significantly increased danger to your character.
The risk level varies among Cursed Objects, demanding careful consideration before use. There's no penalty for choosing not to utilize them. Only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract (unless modified in Custom settings).
