Two GTA Titles Are Leaving Netflix Games Next Month

Big changes are coming for Netflix Games subscribers who enjoy Grand Theft Auto on Android. Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City are leaving the Netflix Games platform next month.

Why are these GTA games leaving Netflix, and when?

This isn't a surprise decision. Netflix licenses games similarly to how it licenses movies and TV shows. The licenses for these two GTA titles are expiring. You'll see a "Leaving Soon" notification on the games before they're removed.

GTA III and Vice City were added to Netflix Games exactly one year ago. The initial 12-month agreement between Netflix and Rockstar Games is concluding. After December 13th, these games will no longer be accessible to Netflix subscribers.

If you've been playing either game on Netflix, it's time to finish up. However, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas remains available.

What's next for these titles?

If you haven't completed them, you can purchase the Definitive Editions of Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City from the Google Play Store. Each game costs $4.99, or you can get the entire trilogy for $11.99.

Unlike the removal of Samurai Shodown V and WrestleQuest last year, Netflix is giving players advance notice. It's noteworthy that Rockstar Games isn't renewing the license, despite Netflix Games' subscriber growth in 2023 being partly attributed to the GTA trilogy.

However, there are rumors that Rockstar and Netflix are collaborating on remastered versions of Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, and even Chinatown Wars. Let's hope this rumor proves true!
