GTA 6 Trailer 2: Rockstar Claims Biggest Video Launch Ever

by Emery May 21,2025

Rockstar Games has announced that the GTA 6 Trailer 2 has become the biggest video launch of all time, amassing a staggering 475 million views across all platforms within its first 24 hours. This monumental achievement surpasses previous records set by major movie trailers, including Deadpool & Wolverine, which garnered 365 million views, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, with 200 million views. Even last year's Superman trailer, which achieved over 250 million views and was the most-viewed trailer in DC and Warner Bros.' history, pales in comparison to the impact of GTA 6 Trailer 2.

For context, GTA 6 Trailer 1, which was initially released exclusively on YouTube, achieved 93 million views on its first day and set a record as the largest non-music video launch on the platform. As of the publication of this article on May 8, GTA 6 Trailer 2 has already accumulated 85,276,196 views on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel alone.

IGN has highlighted the significant impact of GTA 6 Trailer 2 on music, particularly with The Pointer Sisters’ track Hot Together. Following its inclusion in the trailer, the song experienced a monumental 182,000% increase in Spotify streams within just two hours of the trailer's release. Sulinna Ong, Spotify’s Global Head of Editorial, commented, “Grand Theft Auto cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else. Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it’s great to see fans both new and established connecting with an iconic track in this way.”

The release of GTA 6 Trailer 2 comes after the game’s delay from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. Given its unprecedented trailer views and cultural impact, GTA 6 is poised to become the biggest entertainment launch of all time, potentially setting new revenue records across both video games and movies.
