The gaming community is buzzing with excitement over the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), which was captured entirely using the PlayStation 5. Rockstar Games took to Twitter (X) on May 8 to announce that the trailer was "captured entirely in-game from a PlayStation 5, composed of equal parts gameplay and cutscenes." This revelation has left fans in awe of the stunning realism and quality showcased in the trailer.
The high-quality visuals of the trailer led many to question which segments were gameplay, as everything seemed to flow seamlessly like cutscenes. A fan clarified that all cutscenes in Rockstar Games are run in-game, yet some viewers remain skeptical that what they saw was indeed in-game footage and not purely cinematic sequences.
Curiosity also surrounds whether Rockstar Games used a standard PS5 or the rumored PS5 Pro, given the significant performance and graphical differences between the two. Unfortunately, Rockstar has not yet addressed these questions, leaving fans to speculate.
The trailer is packed with details, some more subtle than others. One notable return is Phil Cassidy, a familiar face in the GTA series, known for selling guns to players. Fans noticed that while his design has changed, particularly his physique, his personality and involvement in the gun business with the Ammu-Nation store chain remain the same.
Eagle-eyed viewers also spotted a PS5 console and controller in the trailer, a clever nod to the system used to capture the footage. Another exciting potential feature is the return of the Gym System, first seen in GTA San Andreas, where players can customize their character's build by working out. This is hinted at by protagonist Jason Duval exercising on a beach.
The trailer also teases a variety of activities that might be included in the game, such as golf, fishing, scuba diving, hunting, basketball, kayaking, and fight clubs. Although not confirmed, these activities appear to be in-game, given Rockstar's statement about the trailer's content.
As fans continue to uncover more references and Easter eggs with each passing day, anticipation for GTA 6 remains high despite the recent announcement of its delay. The game is now scheduled for release on May 26, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Stay tuned for more updates by checking out our article below!
