When participating in the Lantern Rite event in *Genshin Impact*, choosing the right four-star character can significantly enhance your gameplay, whether you're a new player or a seasoned veteran looking to boost your constellations. Let's dive into the best options you have during this event.

First and foremost, if there's a character you particularly enjoy but don't have, or if you're aiming to enhance your favorite's constellations, go for them. However, if you're looking for general recommendations, we have you covered.
The standout choice this time around is the newly introduced four-star character, Lan Yan. As an Anemo shielder, Lan Yan not only boosts survivability in teams that prioritize shielding over healing, such as those featuring Hu Tao and Arlecchino, but also enhances team performance with the Viridescent Venerer artifact set by shredding enemy resistance. Most players won't have her yet, making her a valuable addition to any roster.
If you're pulling for Arlecchino or Clorinde during their banners, you might also get lucky and obtain Lan Yan. Achieving her second constellation allows her shield to regenerate during normal attacks, significantly increasing her effectiveness.
Beyond Lan Yan, consider picking up Xingqiu, Xiangling, or Yaoyao. Let's start with Yaoyao, a powerful Dendro healer capable of maintaining your team's health. Her skill heals the active party member while also damaging enemies, and her burst enables healing across the entire team while she's active. Yaoyao is an excellent choice for teams utilizing bloom, hyperbloom, aggravate, spread, or burning compositions, and she's fully effective even at constellation zero.

Next, we have the tried-and-true characters, Xingqiu and Xiangling. These two are among the best four-star units *Genshin Impact* has to offer. If you're missing either, they're must-haves. Xingqiu excels as a sub-DPS, applying Hydro effectively for freeze and vaporize teams, while also offering damage reduction and minor healing. His final constellation significantly amplifies his power.
Xiangling, on the other hand, is a Pyro sub-DPS whose ultimate unleashes a pyronado that inflicts substantial Pyro damage and sets up reactions. You receive a copy of Xiangling upon clearing Spiral Abyss floor 5, but her constellations, especially the fourth one which extends her burst duration by 40%, make her an even more formidable force.
If you already possess all these characters, take a moment to review the four-star characters available during the event and select one that you need constellations for. This way, you'll make the most out of the opportunity to strengthen your team.
