Fortnite has triumphantly returned to the U.S. Apple App Store, delighting iPhone and iPad users who have eagerly awaited its comeback. Epic Games announced this exciting news through a post on X/Twitter, celebrating the reintroduction of their beloved battle royale game to mobile platforms. After a five-year hiatus, the Fortnite iOS store page has been reinstated, maintaining the look it had upon its departure in 2020, but with an updated welcome message: "Fortnite is back!"
Fortnite is BACK on the App Store in the U.S. on iPhones and iPads... and on the Epic Games Store and AltStore in the E.U! It’ll show up in Search soon!

At the time of writing, some U.S. Apple users may face difficulties locating Fortnite directly through the App Store's search function, though Epic assures that this issue will be resolved "soon." In the meantime, players can access its revived store page by clicking here. For those in the E.U., Fortnite is also now available for download through the Epic Games Store and AltStore.
The return of Fortnite to iOS devices marks the end of a tumultuous period between Epic Games and Apple. The conflict began in August 2020 when both Google and Apple removed Fortnite from their digital stores following an Epic update that reduced the price of V-Bucks and introduced a direct payment system. Epic cited the "exorbitant" fees charged by Apple and Google as the reason for their move.
This led to a prolonged legal battle that kept Fortnite off official storefronts, affecting millions of players. However, the tide turned in April when Epic CEO Tim Sweeney announced Fortnite's return to the iOS App Store for early May, following a favorable ruling from a U.S. Federal District Court in California. Despite a last-minute hiccup with Apple's continued blocking, Fortnite has now made its long-awaited return to iOS devices after five years.
Players downloading Fortnite on their Apple devices can now choose to buy V-Bucks either through the Epic Games Store or via in-app purchases. For instance, purchasing the 2,800 V-Bucks pack for $22.99 allows users to pay Epic directly, earning a 20% rebate ($4.60) to use on other Epic offerings.
For more on Fortnite, you can explore Epic's collaboration with Star Wars, which introduced the Darth Vader AI bot. However, this feature has faced some controversy as players discovered ways to make it utter profanities. Additionally, the Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) filed an unfair labor practice charge against Epic just yesterday.
