"Dreadmoor: New PC Game Blends Fishing with Post-Apocalyptic Mystery"

by Skylar Apr 22,2025

Developer Dream Dock has unveiled their latest project, *Dreadmoor*, a thrilling first-person single-player action-adventure game that draws inspiration from the acclaimed 2023 title, *Dredge*. In *Dreadmoor*, players will take the helm of a fishing trawler, navigating through a hauntingly beautiful post-apocalyptic world known as the Drownlands. This setting is the result of a global nuclear war that has caused continents to sink beneath the waves, leaving behind a landscape of scattered islands and the submerged ruins of ancient civilizations. The game is currently in development for PC, and fans can get a glimpse of the atmospheric world through the announcement trailer and the first set of screenshots available in the gallery below.

Dream Dock's vision for *Dreadmoor* is a gripping narrative where survival hinges on your ability to fish, explore, combat mutated creatures, and unravel the mysteries that lurk in the depths. As you sail through the Drownlands, you'll sell your catch to survivors, undertake quests, and gradually edge closer to survival. It's crucial to monitor your ship's cargo hold, as the creatures you catch might start devouring each other. To delve deeper into the hidden depths and secret locations, you'll need to upgrade your ship and craft essential equipment. The game promises encounters with mutated creatures and sinister mysteries, especially at night, and warns players to be wary of radiation, which poses an even greater threat in this perilous world.

*Dreadmoor* offers an expansive fishing experience with over 100 species of fish to catch. The most challenging catches, found in the deepest waters, require the most unusual bait but offer the highest rewards. Players will also engage in scavenging for resources and exploring both the surface and the underwater world. If *Dreadmoor* piques your interest, you can add it to your wishlist on Steam to stay updated on its development progress.
