Following the buzz around their new project, Project C4, ZA/UM has thrilled fans with the announcement of an official mobile version of the critically acclaimed game, Disco Elysium. This version, exclusive to Android devices, is poised to introduce the captivating world of Disco Elysium to a new audience while offering a convenient, on-the-go experience for existing fans.
ZA/UM's strategy for the mobile launch includes releasing the first two chapters of Disco Elysium for free, allowing players to dive into the game's unique narrative and gameplay. Following this, players can unlock the full game with a single payment, ensuring an ad-free experience. This approach reflects ZA/UM's commitment to enabling players to make well-informed decisions about their purchases.
"Today's ZA/UM studio is comprised of both creators and custodians of the Disco Elysium IP. We take both of those roles very seriously and we believe that is evident in the Disco Elysium mobile experience we are creating," stated ZA/UM, underscoring their dedication to preserving the integrity and quality of the game's mobile adaptation.

Studio head Denis Havel revealed that the mobile version of Disco Elysium aims to engage the TikTok audience, offering quick, compelling snippets of the game's story, art, and audio. "We intend to captivate the TikTok user with quick hits of compelling story, art, and audio, ultimately creating an all new, deeply engaging form of entertainment," Havel explained.
Alongside the announcement, ZA/UM released a debut trailer and screenshots, showcasing new 360-degree scenes designed to immerse mobile users directly into the world of Revachol. The mobile version also introduces full voiceover, enhancing the game's immersive and character-rich experience.
The official description highlights the mobile version as a "total re-imagination of the award-winning, gripping psychological RPG Disco Elysium," tailored to fit the habits of modern mobile users. This story-rich adventure is optimized for short play sessions, making it perfect for players to enjoy anytime, anywhere on their mobile devices.
Narrative Lead Chris Priestman described the mobile version as "what audiobooks wish they were," designed to be enjoyed in short bursts, further emphasizing its suitability for mobile gaming.
Disco Elysium is set to launch on mobile via Google Android in the summer of 2025. It's important to note that while the studio name remains the same, many key contributors to the original Disco Elysium have since left ZA/UM. Numerous former ZA/UM members have departed the studio since the game's release, with some now working on spiritual successors to the beloved title.
